Antenna Associates' AA8830 Antenna System is a complete stand alone identification Friend or Foe (Secondary Surveillance Radar) Antenna System. This system combines ourAS-2188/U directional IFF/SSR Antenna with our AA-8 Rotator in order to provide exceptional 360 degree IFF/SSR coverage.

All equipment on the AA8830 System has been designed, tested and field proven to meet the most demanding ground based and shipboard applications. The AA8830 meets all of today's interrogator requirements and will work with any tow channel interrogator on the market today. A complete IFF/SSR Radar System can be created by adding a iterrogator.

The AA8830's Rotator is powered by brushless DC Motors and accepts a wide range of AC input voltages, phase and frequencies making the system extremely versatile. Its controller maintains speed within 1%. Azimuth position is maintained by anti backlash gears to eliminate the impact of wind, snow and ice. The systems azimuth position is reported by a synchro or fourteen bit encoder.
